KVC Good News!
Jesus is Lord of the Herd!Jesus is the Good Shepherd of the flock and now he is the Shep-herd of the Herd as well! Last week was so exciting as we saw three Marshall University students baptized into Christ!
It started with Jasmine Hudson making the decision to make Jesus Lord. Jasmine, a freshman at MU, was so moved by the cross of Jesus that she decided she wanted to live for Christ! On April 15th, with family and friends as witnesses, Jasmine made her good confession and was raised to a new life. Next up was Adam Adkins on April 22nd. Adam was deeply moved by the example of disciples on campus and saw his need to repent and get right with God. With his family and friends in attendance the church rejoiced as he was born again! That same day was the quiet Alicia Turner. You could hardly hear Alicia talk when she first came out. Now she is quite the personality in the fellowship! It was so exciting to see the joy on her face as she was reconciled to God! Truly, Jesus is Lord of the Herd! |

"As for me and my household....The KVC rejoiced as on Sunday, January 15th another family chose to complete Caleb's thought in Joshua 24:15 with a resounding, "...we will serve the LORD." as TJ and Cammi were baptized into Christ!
Throughout the New Testament we see whole households being saved through the influence of one relative who becomes a Christian. TJ and Cammi were introduced to the KVC through TJ's cousin Haley who is part of the church in Columbus, OH. We were so excited that she got to be there for the baptism and share how much it built her faith to see her prayers for her family being answered in TJ & Cammi. Not only that but their 9 year-old son Brayden looked on and their son Silas experienced it from the womb (Cammi was in the final weeks of her pregnancy)! Cammi's parents joined the celebration. Truly, it was a family affair! Congratulations to TJ & Cammi. God is rejoicing...we're excited to be at the party! |

A Family United in Christ! The KVC had a special Thanksgiving celebration on Friday, November 18th as we saw Heather baptized into Christ! Heather is the wife of Jhonattan who was baptized just a few weeks earlier. God has absolutely worked a miracle in their lives. When they were met in June their family life was in dire straits. It has been amazing to see how God's Word has transformed both of their hearts as well as their family!
Jhonattan and Heather, along with their beautiful daughter Emori, are now a vibrant part of the family of Christ here in Charleston. They are hospitable, loving and serve in so many ways. We are so excited to have their family as a part of the church here! |

The KVC's First Two Baptisms!Last Sunday was an exciting day for the Kanawha Valley Church Mission Team as we saw God work miracles in two men that have grown so close to us all.
Stephen, a freshman at the University of Charleston, had made a decision just days before he was reached out to during Singles Swap. He was so open to the good news and readily made decisions to repent and make Jesus Lord! Jhonattan, a neighbor of the Bartolis and Burnetts, had been studying the Bible for a few month and truly a miracle story. He and his wife were met before the mission team even got to Charleston. God has worked powerfully in his life and family and on Sunday he made the decision to make Jesus the Lord of his life! It was a day of celebration for all involved! To God be the glory through changed lives in West Virginia! |
